Rose Scholarship |
The Rose Scholarship is an award to a non-traditional student, female head of household, and primary wage earner of the family. Applicants should be individuals pursuing post high school training or certification programs not necessarily requiring a baccalaureate degree. The recipient must use the scholarship to attend an educational institution that is accredited and normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of students in attendance at the place where its educational activities are regularly carried on. This scholarship can fund a certification program such as law enforcement or fire training education at a technical/trade school or a community college.
The winner of this scholarship will automatically be submitted to the Zonta District 10 Rose Scholarship Committee for consideration. If selected, she receive an additional award. ![]() Our 2014 Rose Scholarship winner is Yolanda Gardner. She is a single mother of three active boys, who moved away from a domestic abuse situation a year ago. She has started a non-profit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence (Yolanda's Hands In Unity), works multiple jobs and is attending law school.
